Greg studied music at the Victorian College of Arts, before completing post graduate studies while working as a conductor in Europe with State Opera in Munich. Renowned for his innovation and creative skills, Greg’s compositions have been enjoyed on more than 100 albums and 60 film and television soundtracks including The Man from Snowy River and Crocodile Dundee. He even spent several years as musical arranger on ‘The Don Lane Show’. While negotiating a complex trademark and intellectual property issue, Greg’s own lawyer recommended he study the law. Intrigued by the possibility of a ‘portfolio’ career that explored both law and music, Greg completed a law degree at Bond University in just two years.

Greg moved into a partnership with JM Smith and Emmerton Solicitors; General Counsel then COO at Prime Life, then CEO of Macquarie’s Retirement Village and Aged Care Trust. Greg’s work in the retirement village industry has become one of his specialist skills and he has a personal mission to assist communities with an easier transition to retirement village and nursing home living and financial management.

His retirement from Macquarie was short-lived. Greg bought Michael Meade Lawyers in 2015, becoming Flood Chalmers Meade. He then began a period of strategic acquisitions that has led to significantly business growth and a loyal client portfolio.

For the last 30 years, Greg has combined arranging and conducting work with a career in law and business. He has served as Chair and Director for a range of listed and unlisted companies in Australia and New Zealand, as well as Director/ Trustee for a number of not-for-profit companies involved in Music and the Arts, the property and aged care sector.

Away from work, Greg is still a passionate musician involved in both administration and performance. He still plays my trombone and will conduct anyone who will let him stand in front of them. Greg is married to celebrated author and performer, Rozzie Botani who is the author of three books.

“Greg makes regular, voluntary visits to nearby retirement villages to offer advice to residents and has developed a trusted relationship with his local community.”
